Johnny Manziel, the former Texas A&M quarterback, has filed a defamation lawsuit against a College Station woman, MaKenzie Carter, seeking damages and a temporary restraining order. Manziel's lawyer, Aron Hutchins, stated that the lawsuit was necessary to protect Manziel and his associates from Carter's relentless online harassment and false claims about a non-existent romantic relationship. The court granted Manziel an emergency TRO, prohibiting Carter from posting false statements, contacting Manziel or his associates, and engaging in stalking or harassment. The hearing for the TRO is scheduled for March 6th, and Manziel seeks monetary damages, attorney's fees, and a permanent injunction to stop Carter's harmful behavior.
